SIA NCRSF sponsors a quarterly breakfast that provides a forum for public sector end users to discuss their specific security operations and challenges they face in supporting their missions. Attendees get to hear from and engage with a guest speaker in a small, intimate setting conducive to open discussion.
Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 8:00-9:15 a.m. (EST) for this breakfast event featuring guest speaker Kim Workman, senior security specialist at the Smithsonian Institution. Ms. Workman runs the security project management division at the Smithsonian, and attendees will hear about the unique challenges and opportunities in securing historic properties without detracting from their aesthetics. The breakfast will be held at the DoubleTree in Tysons, Virginia, and will be limited to 30 attendees. Preregistration is required.
About the Speaker
Kim Workman PSP, CIPM has been in the security industry for over 40 years. Ms. Workman has worked almost every aspect of the industry to include monitoring, sales, marketing, technical, consulting, design, and engineering, as well as management. She was the first female technician worldwide for Honeywell and the first female technician at the Smithsonian. She worked for the Smithsonian for 13 years before becoming a security consultant, during this time she started successful security divisions at two different companies. After 8 years of consulting, she went back to the government. Currently she runs the security project management division at the Smithsonian. She is a Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Institutional Protection Manager (CIPM) for Cultural Property Protection and is certified in the Federal Risk Management Process.
