The mission of the SIA National Capital Region Security Forum is to address issues and opportunities facing the security industry in the Federal marketplace. We do that by:
- Serving as an advocacy group for the security industry in the D.C. area within the federal marketplace
- Promoting proactive communication between the security industry and the federal end user community
- Providing a forum for the security industry focused to collaborate and more effectively execute business opportunities
- Working closely with the Security Industry Association (SIA) to support the association’s initiatives in and around the federal marketplace
We meet monthly for networking events (typically scheduled the third Thursday of each month from 6-8 p.m. Eastern; we gather on a quarterly basis breakfast events to hear from insightful speakers, and we organize and host a charity golf tournament each October.
Founded in 2007 to bring together people in government and the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia security community, the National Capital Region Security Forum (NCRSF), presented by the Security Industry Association (SIA), is a community of security professionals and those associated with the industry who connect monthly to network and exchange ideas. We are committed to the shared mission of making the world a safer place through collaboration and integration of ideas that empower us to meet the security needs of today and beyond.
NCRSF serves a diverse set of companies, from Fortune 100 firms to many small and medium-sized businesses, and more than 1,000 security and government professionals throughout the United States. Our goal is to foster a more robust discussion between the security needs of the federal government and the industry solutions available to them. The SIA NCRSF monthly networking events provide a great forum to connect and engage with other industry professionals from a wide range of businesses. These monthly networking events take place on the third Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Each monthly event is sponsored by a different company. SIA NCRSF sponsors a quarterly breakfast that provides a forum for public sector end users to discuss their specific security operations and challenges they face in supporting their missions. Attendees get to hear from and engage with a government guest speaker in a small, intimate setting conducive to open discussion. Previous guest speakers joined us from the Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the Marine Corps.
This charity golf outing is another SIA NCRSF event, which benefits the Kennedy Krieger Institute Rehabilitation Center for Traumatic Brain Injuries. The golf outing will be held in October at the Mount Vernon Country Club.
